Hana has a new penguin

We went to Monterey yesterday, and yet again, the children were GLUED to the penguins. This time we managed to see the penguin feeding, which Hana particularly enjoyed, because it involved her favorite animal engaging in her favorite activity. I snuck off and covertly purchased “mommy” penguins for the kids (there were many earlier requests) and hid them until we were in the car. The kids hugged them the whole ride home (one snoozing).

Incidentally, Maya was worried initially that we missed Martin Luther King’s birthday party. I guess 3.5 years old was too young for that particular history lesson, but she did like parts of the inauguration.
