Maya and Hana are slightly retro

 We stopped at the Nut Tree on the way home from Tahoe.  It was a long stop.  These little rides (which I think were there when I was little, and it was way more ghetto) were the absolute highlight.  What was NOT the highlight was Hana screaming throughout the meal at Fenton’s, Maya refusing to eat mac and cheese unless it had a french fry reward, and Mustafa being the self-coronated King of Healthy Eating who punished the blogger and aunt for using wise bribes to keep the peace (and keep us from getting kicked out).  We almost ran over him with the new ginormous SUV.
