Hana is very chatty and no longer shy
Hana
is 19 months old today, and here is what she has to say:
HI mommy/daddy (80% of the time to the right person)! Hana like to run
around outside, so she runs at top speed repeating Outside/Door (while
marching in that direction)..but first…SHOES (while finding
them/handing them over) and HAT (crisis if that is not immediately
available). If she can’t find them (or anything these days), she says
in a little sing-song voice, “shoes, ee are you”–learned directly from
Maya, who still says “ee are you” instead of where are you.
Wait, we’re only thinking about going outside if…
EAT EAT..that’s right. Hana needs pretty much constant nourishment and
watering. Hana talks about food, quite a bit, actually. Like 60% of
her words are food related. MORE, mommy, MORE (Hana’s first word)!
Cereal, cheese, peas, soup! Wait, we’re sick of those things/Hana has
cleared the house of them? That’s cool, she can spot the fruit
bowl–(ba)nana, orange–lots of shouting about fruit. And Hana does not
want things on her tray. She wants a BOWL and spoon, pronto. NOW.
Hana will say “PEEZ” for please and something like thank you with a little baby sign. Very cute. And on the off chance she is done eating before you cut her off/run out of food, she says “all done”.
One of Hana’s very cutest moves is saying BOOK and something that sounds
a little like read, then thumping her chest and marching over to you.
Get prepared, because no matter what you were doing, you’re reading to
Hana now. And if you’re Maya, be prepared to be shoved, HARD, out of
the way. At the end of the time we shout BATH! and say night night to
everyone. Including her beloved bunny (animals are another thing Hana
loves to talk about). Hana’s bunny is quickly rising to Boof status
(Hana also knows Boof’s name), and the bunny is named Abby–Hana
randomly named it herself.
