Happy Birthday Amna! (Part 2)

So, we started out the evening trying to make a birthday card for Amna (wait–we started out with Maya wanting to Skype Amna at 6am Pakistan time…another story). Anyway, simple enough, since Maya is an artistic genius, and super-cooperative, right? RIGHT. Maya took out all of the crayons (“no no no, mommy. No help. Maya’s turn.”), and proceeded to make small drawings on every sheet of paper in her art bin. Every sheet, that is, other than the card I made for Amna. Really?

Hana isn’t allowed to play with crayons, since she thinks they are waxy delicious food, so she played with shapes and practiced being cute.

The group photo is kind of what you expect. Basically, we need Amna to get us all in line. Happy birthday, dear sister-in-law! The blogger misses you!
