The Bench

My grandparents were really involved in a place called Sweet Springs Nature Preserve, which is right across from where they lived our entire lives. It is a beautiful place, and all of us have fond memories of running around there (more disturbing nature than preserving it). The granddaughters decided to have a bench installed in their memory, and it is fantastic, with a beautiful view of Morro Bay and Morro Rock.

The plaque reads: In loving memory, Charles and Eilleen Bowen, Always a part of Sweet Springs. We’re sure they love the idea of people sitting there and enjoying the space.

The kids were not as cooperative.
