Jack is one!

Jack celebrated his first birthday yesterday, and he really knows how to throw a party. Simon built him an awesome sandbox, and I’m not kidding you when I say that Maya spent THE ENTIRE afternoon in it. She can tell you everything about it. She was so into the sandbox that she would only stop for a brief snack after three hours of solid, non-stop sand play. She was even kind of good about sharing with Nate and Jack (given that there were a zillion sand toys, this really shouldn’t have been an issue, but you know Maya).

Hana was not at all into her sun hat, and not very excited about the sun, but she did pretty well. She especially liked bonding with 8 month old Kam inside where it was quiet (and not sunny). They were demonstrating all of their best baby tricks.

It was a super fun afternoon, complete with delicious cake baked by Jack’s grandma Chris, here all the way from Britain (he has a world-wide following, much like Maya and Hana). Happy Birthday (little, yet jumbo) Jack! We can’t believe you are already one year old!
