Lola gets fed breakfast

Hello! Guest blogger here.

Lola tries to gobble down her breakfast as fast as she can. If she doesn’t, she runs into days like this, where her toddler friend insists on being involved in the process.

First, Maya tries to nudge in as close to Lola as possible and play with Lola’s food. Lola knows things won’t end there, and thus pretends to ignore the two-year-old next to her…

Maya then tries to feed Lola. There’s no coercion involved (yet). Lola generally ignores such attempts, and continues to wolf down her meal…

At this point, no more than a minute into the intrusion, Maya decides enough’s enough, and it’s time to show the 70-pound lab who’s the real alpha dog around these parts. So she firmly shoves Lola’s mouth away from the bowl. This is the moment Lola has been fearing…

Being the gentle giant that she is, Lola lets out a sigh, and stands back, but is still entirely focused on the food. Maya, in the meantime, squishes it around to add some flavour…

This finally culminates with Lola finishing her meal in toddler-hand-sized chunks…

It’s all very cute.
