Maya is at one with nature

Last weekend the Jamil gang went to the zoo, and it was the best visit yet. Maya spent about 45 minutes watching a slightly out of control monkey–she even stopped to have a snack because the monkey was also having a snack (they ate different things). We also saw some very lazy tortoises, the ever-exciting otters, and some bears.

Maya was most excited to just run and jump around in the grassy areas on this rare sunny day, though. We did not inform her of our HORRIBLE zoo discovery: the Oakland zoo has no hippos. I feel duped, and Maya would not take this news well, as a lover of the hippo.
