Maya is ultimately very tiny

Even though she can already say lots of words that we understand, and talks constantly in a secret Maya language that only Lola understands; even though she’s pretty grown up and can feed herself yogurt and peel her own bananas; even though she can *almost* put on her pink sport sandals by herself; even though she understands just about everything we’re saying, even when she’s not doing what she’s told…she’s still, ultimately, very tiny.
