Maya is about to seem a lot bigger

As many readers of this blog know, Maya is going to be a big sister in the fall! We are very excited about this Bowen-Jamil family expansion, but she’s a little too small to understand. She does like poking my expanding tummy now and then, but she is into tummies generally, so that is nothing new. I think she would prefer a puppy, or a cat, but she gets a little sister. Mustafa was a little disturbed at first that he was going to be overrun by women, but I assured him that this was a good thing. Besides, so far Maya seems more than happy to play lots of sports and likes to be very dirty.

Now I get to decorate the office/guest room as Maya’s room, which is my current I-should-be-working-but-instead-I’m-looking-for-used-toddler-furniture hobby. Walls are going to be two shades of green, kind of a garden theme. I was indulging Mustafa’s “outer space” theme, but given his typical man-like effort into the whole *household* part of our lives, I figure–time for the blogger and Maya to get going on a fun girl room!

Can’t wait for our (very) full house in the fall!
