Blast from the past: a year ago today!

I was on solo Maya duty all weekend (Mustafa was working), and I didn’t take any pictures! Pathetic. Hopefully I will get it together tomorrow afternoon, but you never know. We had a great time playing baby games, legos, reading and eating LOTS of food. Less fun was more teething (Maya now has TWO front top teeth) and swimming. Maya’s swim lessons have resumed, and the indoor pool was very loud and crowded. She was really scared and cried most of the time. Awful! Hopefully next time will be better; we’re switching to an afternoon class, when the pool is supposedly less crowded.

The one silver lining in the Maya-having-a-miserable-lesson cloud: She looked at Mustafa as everything became just too much and said “ma” for the first time–apparently wanting a mommy rescue. Of course, not to ME, and only when fearing destruction at the hands of the sea, but still. It made me cry.
