Maya has a new friend

Last Friday, my friend Carolyn visited us from D.C., and much to my delight, she was a total baby whisperer (I shouldn’t be surprised, she already had a special thing going on with Lola the crazy dog). Carolyn is a rockstar–she is an Iraq vet and still works on women’s vet issues through the nonprofit she’s starting. Carolyn’s presence tempted our friend Jody to visit from SF with her girlfriend Sharon, and we had a great time talking politics (we met at Senator Boxer’s office) and eating my randomly thrown together meal.

Maya was a quiet little bird after bedtime. Lola got tons of love from everyone. And Mustafa had a boy’s night out. Fun times!
