Just to follow up...

I really like this Op-Ed from the New York Times today.  When the debate around Proposition 8 raged in California (well, not really among anyone I know), I thought that opponents of the proposition should link it to what it is–denial of civil rights, and outright bigotry.  As the writer notes, it was well within my parents’ lifetime that interracial marriage was illegal in many parts of this country.  Those kinds of laws and those who supported them now seem antiquated in their strident bigotry; hopefully, anti-gay laws (and those who support them) will be viewed with the same derision by the time Maya can read this.
