Lola and Maya
Lola continues to be fascinated with Maya. She spent the first few days acting confused, and now doesn’t want to be separated from her. Her instinct, I think, is to treat Maya as a rival (particularly for Mommy’s attention), but also to act in the role of caretaker.
Here, she really wanted to know how Maya was doing, since she had not been chirping for a while, and had fallen asleep. She’d been scolded by Rebecca on the one occasion where she stood up and swung her front paws over to the inside of the play pen so she could get closer to Maya. Ever since then, all she does is try to peek over the side, like she was doing here.
Anytime Maya is asleep on a adult-sized bed, Lola wants to be by her side. We allow this, but don’t allow her to lick Maya’s face. Here, she just put her head down next to her new friend (who happened to be smiling while asleep at the time). That Boppy pillow is quite versatile.
