Maya's big day out!

Maya took her first (round-trip) car trip today to the pediatrician! It was pretty exciting. We bundled her up in a little sweatsuit because the morning was chilly, but her clothes were a little too big. She still looked adorable, of course. Although pleasingly plump to our eyes, Maya has in fact lost over 1 pound since birth, so the doctor put us on a strict feeding schedule, and we’ll be back tomorrow for weigh-in, just like a boxer. Highly appropriate, since Maya really likes to punch her tiny fists around when she wants to eat, and she is a strong little baby. Other than needing to pack on some weight, she’s in perfect health.

Maya’s other big event of the day was her first post-hospital bath. She did NOT enjoy this. There are no pictures to commemerate this horrible experience, at her request (and because both of us were required to control a squirming, screaming baby).

The rest of Maya’s day was spent with mom and grandma while daddy banked some much needed sleep. We dressed her up in a few different outfits and fed her all day, and she is a much happier baby this evening with a full tummy. Right now she’s swinging away in some fuzzy pajamas looking as cute as can be. Pictures to follow…
