Quick update and lots of thanks!

This will be fast, because Maya is sleeping (very briefly, no doubt) in my lap.  I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the emails, texts, and calls while we were in the hospital over the last week–it was wonderful to feel so loved!

From my perspective, things worked out perfectly, because Maya is enchanting.  Of course, I wish that I’d had a C-section right off the bat, instead of after 46 hours of a failed induction (including an epidural that didn’t take).  But live and learn, and learn I have!  I’m feeling really good, and Mustafa and I are slowly piecing together a sleep schedule, with the absolutely essential help of my parents.  

The little one is starting to stir and make “I want to eat now” gestures (her favorite), so I’ll leave it here.  Thanks again, and I’ll really try to start emailing and calling people back soon…as soon as I get just a little more sleep.
