Some of our favorite kids live in Kansas!

We’re in the final countdown to Maya, so here’s an introduction to her soon-to-be cousins, Ben and Maggie Wieland. Ben and Mustafa are life-long friends (Ben’s life), and in May, we visited Shawnee, Kansas to see the Wieland clan. Every morning at 7 a.m. sharp, Ben woke Mustafa up with “wake up, sleepyhead” and playtime began! They are thick as thieves. I am completely enchanted by Maggie, and loved watching her chase Samantha the turtle around Lisa’s backyard in Rancho this July.

Jenni and I are convinced that our kids will be as close as we were growing up (and now), even though they will also live as far apart. Although we did really like Shawnee…
